2007 Nontrager (Rock Lobster):

When Trek closed the Bontrager production facility, in Santa Cruz, the frame bits were discarded.  Paul , of Rock Lobster, decided the supplies were to valuable to go to waste and added them to his stash of frame building materials   Some of the subassemblies, such as rear triangles, were already built which makes them much easier to build for Paul.  We had discussed the Nontrager story at the 2005 Crossroads Bike Festival and Paul promised to put together a frame for me when he got a chance.  Everything came together in late 2006 and a box arrived on our door step.  It was pretty cool since I had told Paul to surprise me on the color.  Kinda neat that it ends up being a very non-Bontrager color which highlights is "Nontrager-ness".  This one has a Rock Lobster serial number of N100 for the 100th Nontrager ever built.  It also carries the original Bontrager serial number on the drop outs.
